The Bordeaux region is famous for it's wines of course, but also has some of the most fantastic scenery in France.
What better way to explore the region than aboard a boat, whether that be a self drive cruise, or a hotel barge?

Today I am delighted to introduce the Mirabelle to you. Accomodating up to 24 guest, the Mirabelle cruises on the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, the Gironde Estuary, the Canal des Deux Mers, the Canal Laterale a la Garonne and the Canal du Midi.
No other boat explore such a variety of waterways.

Air conditioned and central heated, the barge is comfortable throughout the season which runs from April to the beginning of November.

A variety of carefully researched excursions invite guests to visit the fascinating city of Bordeaux, the Medieval village of St Emilion, the Chateaux of Guiraud, of d'Yquem, of de Roquetaillade and Falfas, as well as some of the local vineyards for wine tasting.

Prices begin at 3101 USD or 2215 euros per person, so why not contact us now for the barge cruise of a life-time at a very reasonable price?

A new fleet for Hotels Afloat

HI all!

Despite the recession, and the terrible storms here over the last 36 hours, I was very pleased to meet Steve yesterday, after several email exchanges concerning the possibility of working together. A true Brit like me, Steve is very tall: The only man to set off the wind chimes as he came through the door! A real gentleman and very, very helpful and honest.

So I now have some more boats to add to the site http://www.hotelsafloat.com/

and they are going to be a very big hit! The Euro Classics are steel, traditional shaped barges with a real touch of class. Air conditioning, electric flush toilets, DVD/CD and free-standing furniture. Beautiful both inside and out, these boats are available in the Burgundy region and the Midi, the most popular destinations in France for a barge holiday.

I could go on and on all day on these boats, but have emails to reply to not to mention the site works to get on with, so if you want to see the Euro Classics, go to

select the self drive boats, and then France Afloat.

There is even a possibility of having a daily captain, who will arrive each morning with your croissants! What more could you want? !

Many visitor's attend the show looking for a boat to purchase, but there are increasing numbers looking for that special boat holiday, whether it be a self drive or crew chatered cruise.
If you are unable to attend the show, and let's face it, you may not want to be among so many people!, you may like to visit our site instead where you can see all the self drive boats on display at the salon, and many, many more.
As an English speaking agent, I can assure you that my advice will be impartial and based on my knowledge of the french waterways, hire boat companies, regions, gastronomy and so forth acquired over the past 12 years since I moved to Burgundy.
